A Sunny Sunday with Porsches Abundant
What happened at the April Brunch and will happen in May’s
Sunday April 10th we gathered in our own window-lined dining room to greet each other over demi-tasse sized cups of hot coffee. There were many familiar and getting-to-be-familiar faces gathering, as the brunch is becoming a must -do event each month.
President Reid Smith announced that the new club website is now in full operation and invited all to visit it at LasVegasPorscheClub.com (or lvs.pca.org).
A special presentation was made celebrating the transition from President Salomon Braun’s term to our current President Reid. Barbara Barron, our Vice President had the “Porsche cake” made to honor the occasion (okay, we may be a bit late in some areas but our heart is in the right place -in the driver’s seat of a Porsche).
As the main event of the morning, Michael Dugan presented Salomon Braun- the esteemed leader of all things in club drives and tours. Salomon shared his great pleasure, and of course Jackie’s, of hitting the open road to discover new friends as well as new curvy vistas. He explained that for many years of his life driving was defined by steering a land cruiser- in this case big Mercedes sedans. Jackie bought a BMW and they decided to join a BMW club event. Among the myriad of boring cars sat a Porsche, and Salomon fell in love- for the second time. Soon after they bought their first Porsche, training-in a car- Jackie’s!!.
There is a club drive each month (may exclude the warmish months of July and August). He also arranges multi-day tours such as to Carmel this month and tour through Idaho for June.
Join us at next Brunch on May 15th at Red Rock Country Club, 2250 Red Springs Drive, 10 am as per usual. Our speaker will be Barbara Barron sharing her Porsche experiences, including as a very successful competitive open-road racer. Come and enjoy a great morning of food, friendly folks and Porsches.
