GGC Summer Picnic and Tour

General Information

Please join our annual summer BBQ picnic with a driving tour beforehand to whet your appetite!  The picnic will be at McNears Beach Park* in San Rafael following a scenic drive. The driving tour will be about three hours long. For the BBQ, the fee is $10 per person for members and free to chapter volunteers.  The driving tour is free but does require completing the registration form here. 

This is a great introductory event for first-time club participants and is also one of our most popular events of the year. All you need is your car and a full tank of gas if participating in the driving tour. The picnic starts at 12:30p.

Tour Option

Due to the large number of cars participating in our driving tours, we're are limited to 30 cars that will be divided into smaller tour groups. After you register for the tour,  you'll receive information before the event regarding the meet up location and time.

If you've tried to sign up after the limit has been reached, the system will generate an automatic waiting list. If you need to cancel, please let us know so that someone else can take your place.

You can arrive at the staging area as early as 8:30a but please no later than 9:00a to sign the waiver. We'll have a driver's meeting at 9:15a and leave promptly at 9:30a.  

Please note that everyone in your vehicle must sign the waiver! If you're bringing a minor under 18, you must sign a minor waiver for them.  If you are a licensed driver under 18 years old driving with us without a guardian present, please contact the registrars in advance so we can send you a waiver to sign and bring to the event.
