Cooking on the Plains III

High Plains Raceway

About this event

JULY DE

July 27 & 28, 2019

Cooking On The Plains III Straight From 4 To 8 will run the full course Saturday and the North Course Sunday. While the North Course has fewer corners, it will still be a challenge for the seasoned HPR driver. We will also have lunchtime charity runs both days to support the STEM Robotics Team in honor of STEM's hero auto enthusiast, Kendrick Castillo.

Even though it’s shorter, the North Course still has 11 turns. On Sunday we will turn in just before turn 4 and go straight to the end of turn 8, (sorry, "straight from 4 to 8" is not yet a drinking song) carry more speed than usual into turn 9 and experience turn 10 like never before "wheeeee"!

Membership has grown over the last few years, your club is making the extra effort to get new drivers on the track at every event. This isn't racing (fair warning - HPDE has led to some owners turning their beauty queen Porsche into a track beast), it is High Performance Drivers Education. Drive the track with a nationally certified PCA instructor who will ride shotgun and guide you through the two different track configurations. Plus, you get classroom instruction worth hundreds of dollars. RMR makes safety and fun priority one.

Get extra track time or get a taste of the track with the lunchtime charity ride - no helmet required for lunchtime rides (highway speeds). Enjoy dinner and beer 30 Saturday night with old and new friends. Then walk some of the track and you will see it from a completely different perspective (with or without beer goggles).

If I haven't convinced you yet, our Chief Driving Instructor Dan Carlson says "mixing up the track configuration from time-to-time will make everyone a better driver while making our track events even more fun - it’s not the 'same-old-same old.'" The novice in all of us will appreciate having a few less turns to learn.

This Event will be using Deferred Billing, if you are paying with a credit card it will not be charged until Wednesday,,
