Pre-Fest ACCC (workers) - Aug 22

Marina Airport

About this event

This registration form is for volunteer workers (instructors and staff) only. If you wish to register as a student, please use the student registration form.

Out-of-chapter instructors: Please sign up as volunteer staff. We will vet your background. Experience in HPDE and autocross instruction is excellent background. Extensive experience in TRSS/CCC instruction is another strong indicator. Please use the "reason for attending" entry box for a brief description of your background.

Out-of-chapter non-instructors: We can put you to work on staging, cone resetting or similar.

This Advanced Car Control Clinic is a special event, held on the Monday between the Monterey Motorsports Reunion (historics races) and BMW CCA O’Fest. The Pre-Fest ACCC will have greater emphasis on autocross than found in a typical ACCC, with the intent of serving as a preparation for drivers who will be attending the O’Fest autocross.

Please register early, so that we can more easily plan the event. If you have not previously volunteered for a Golden Gate Chapter Car Control Clinic event, the only option on the registration form is "staff". Experienced HPDE or TRSS instructors from other chapters are encouraged to volunteer as staff, and use the "reason for attending" to indicate your interest in instructing, along with a brief description of your background. Staff volunteers need no prior experience.

We will not be conducting instructor candidate training/evaluation at this event.

The ACCC format targets drivers with previous experience who wish to build their skills for autocross or HPDE. If you are an experienced CCC instructor, but have not worked with the ACCC format, please contact the coordinators for an instructor guide. We schedule a review (over the internet) for instructors and volunteers prior to the event using Google hangouts.

This ACCC will be held at Marina Airport, in Marina, CA. Please plan to arrive around 7:30. Students start arriving at 8:00. We will need a few instructors/staff to be present at 7:00 when the gates open to help with waivers, trailer setup, etc. Please indicate if you can arrive early.

Helmets are required for all drivers and instructors.

Thank you for volunteering. We have no program without dedicated instructors and staff members.

If you have further questions please contact us at carcontrol@ggcbmwcca.org.

Event requirements

Due to the small head count of the ACCC format, complementary guest reservations are not available.

Helmets are required for Advanced CCCs. Helmets must meet the club’s helmet standards and must be inspected at check-in. If you have questions about helmets, contact the coordinators to ask about which Snell ratings are acceptable. We do have a small number of loaner helmets available, but would prefer to save them for students.

If you plan to use your car at the event, tech it, have a qualified mechanic tech it, or have it tech’ed on site.
