Bull of Surprises Hawaii RallyCross Event

Kualoa Ranch

About this event

Hawaii Region Sports Car Club of America is happy to announce the "Bull of Surprises" Hawaii RallyCross event on Saturday, April 30, 2016.  The RallyCross will be held at the Kualoa Ranch, Kaneohe, Hawaii.

RallyCross is the most widespread and readily accessible form of extreme dirt motorsport in the Sports Car Club of America, and the perfect place to see if you have what it takes to powerslide your way to victory. Imagine a scaled down version of a rally stage laid out on a non-paved plot of land where the course is delineated by traffic cones. Best of all, it's great fun!

Please note the following recent changes to our event:
  • There will be a limit of 50 attendees. Please register early to reserve a spot!

  • Vehicles must bring their own car numbers. This helps us identify the vehicle on course.

  • All attendees must specify the license plate of their chosen vehicle during registration. This helps us organize cars with multiple drivers.

Spectators

While the event is not a spectator event (i.e. SCCA Hawaii Rally won't charge for viewing), we know that you may want to bring your family and friends to watch.  Kualoa Ranch may limit the number of spectators due to parking area size or fire lane restrictions. Viewing areas are “outside” the barrier areas.  Each participant will be allowed one “pit crew” and one “pit vehicle” in the paddock area.  Pets are not allowed at SCCA events, RallyCross included.

Event requirements

Registration Fees

Registration fees are $50 for current SCCA members and $65 for all others.  There is a minimum pre-registration requirement for this event.   T-Shirts with SCCA RallyCross logo will also be available for purchase on-line and delivered at the event.  T-shirt costs are $15.

Only checks or money orders payable to SCCA Hawaii-Rally will be accepted at the event.

Please note that the non-member fee includes an SCCA Weekend membership and will give you a $15-discount towards full SCCA membership, which includes a subscription to SportsCar (our national magazine).

Competitor Requirements

Competitors must present a valid driver’s license, and if under 18-years of age, they must contact the Region for a waiver form.  This form will need to be signed by the participant’s parents prior to competition.

A Snell SA-2000, M-2000 or newer helmet is required for all drivers and passengers. Note: After December 31, 2016, SA-2000 and M-2000 rated helmets are no longer approved for SCCA events.

Vehicle Requirements

Each competitor will be required to present their vehicle -fully muffled, seat belts in working order- to the Tech Inspection Team at 8AM.  Vehicles shall not have leaking fluids or “enhanced” tires (no home-made studded tires).  Vehicles with a high center of gravity or excessive noise may not be allowed to participate; this is at the discretion of the Event Chairman and Tech Inspector.

Each car owner must pick a car number to easily identify their car on course. Only one number is needed per car, not per driver.  Numbers are first-come, first-serve per event, so register early. Please use magnets, or print/write large numbers on paper. The numbers must be readable from 100 feet away.

Multiple Drivers Per Car (Co-drivers)

There is a maximum of two co-drivers per heat. In other words, a single car can be used by a total of four people. Please work out the details with all drivers of the vehicle prior to registration to determine who you will partner with.

Classes

Classes for the 2016 Season shall be: Stock, Prepared, and Modified.  Within each of these classes there are further breakdowns by all-wheel, front-wheel, and rear-wheel drive vehicles.  You may download the 2016 RallyCross Rulebook from the www.scca.com.
