Bertil Roos Endurance Race

Roebling Road Raceway

About this event

Get Away From Normal Competition And Take A Weekend Vacation With The Bertil Roos Racing School's Annual Endurance Race!

This is a relaxed, non-points competition designed to be a fun way for drivers to be able to get away from the stress of a normal competition race and have fun on track. Every year, we choose a track venue that has a nice surrounding area for drivers to be able to get away with their families when they aren't on track. The practice day and race day of this event are split by a free day in between, so that all who are attending this event will have a day to explore the area. This year, the annual enduro will be returning to beautiful Savannah, GA, which has been a favorite location of the drivers and our staff.

The endurance race is formatted so that each driver on the team receives an equal amount of track time, and so that all winning factors will be placed on the drivers' performance on track. The practice day consists of 4 practice sessions for each driver. On race day, each driver will conduct qualifying and starting positions will be decided by the best lap time of the driver who will be starting the race.

The start of the race will be a rolling side by side start. The grid positions are decided by the best lap time of the driver who is starting the race for the team. The race itself is comprised of two 45 minute stints. After the first 45 minutes, the checkered flag will signal the end of the stint based off the leader, and the finishing times of the rest of the field will be recorded. Once the checkered flag is out, all the drivers will be returning to pit lane for the driver change and to fuel the cars. The second stint will begin with the first place car leaving pit lane and the rest of the field being released according to the times they finished behind the leader. We conduct the endurance race in this fashion due to safety reasons, and so that all winning factors are determined by the performance of the drivers on the track.

The Right Cars For The Event!

The Bertil Roos Endurance Race will be utilizing our in-house built formula 2000 cars for the event. Our cars are competition style Formula 2000 cars that have been redesigned for optimal safety and teaching purposes. Our cars run with a Ford 2.0L, 4 Valve engine that pushes 150bhp. With a weight of only 1200lbs, with the driver, our cars are capable of reaching 130mph in a draft and can stop on a dime! Front and rear wings on our cars allow cornering speeds capable of pulling up to 2Gs! Above performance, our cars have also been redesigned for safety. The entire chassis and roll bar are welded together with rigid steel that makes the car very durable and tank-like. A modern 5 point harness is installed in our cars to keep drivers safely secured as well. Driver teams will be allowed to make minor setup changes to their car throughout the event.

Rain? Of Course We Race In The Rain!

The Bertil Roos Racing School will continue with the scheduled program rain or shine. Rain is a factor in road racing and the Bertil Roos Racing School will not postpone a race because of it. The only reason that this event will be delayed or canceled due to weather will be if conditions pose any possible danger to the drivers and the cars. Please refer to our website, racenow.com, or contact our office to learn about our weather-related cancelation policy.

Find A Partner And Prepare For The Long Race!
