PCA Potomac is heading out again for a weekend destination event – and inviting others along to play!
Where to: Virginia Highlands & Warm Springs, VA
Dates: Friday July 8 - Sunday July 10, 2016
Costs: $100 +$115 - 200+tax/night for hotel & activities
Deadline: For advertised hotel rate until sold out or June 25
This weekend will have more than enough twisty roads to open our engines up while enjoying the cool mountain air. We promise more and better roads, and LOTS of great driving. Having done the big properties over the last 10 years, your tour guide Alex Lunsford is shifting gears (so to speak) and targeting more intimate and more quirky properties in his trips going forward.
This one is his favorite in Bath County, VA. The Inn at Gristmill Square is a locally-owned boutique Inn with only 15 rooms available. Prices are very reasonable from $115/night up to $200/night for a bedroom suite. Fabulous dining in a unique setting (you have to see it) and 10 steps away, the Simon Kenton Pub which is an intimate bar hidden within the Waterwheel Restaurant. And the Inn is just 15 mins down the road from the Homestead Resort which offers tons of additional amenities including The Jefferson pools, spas, dancing, several bars, golf, and even falconry.
The schedule includes departure from Haymarket, VA on Friday morning, July 8 at 10 am, taking the scenic back roads to Warm Springs, VA. We will stop in Staunton, VA for lunch for the best barbeque you will ever have, about 2.5 hours away. We have dinner reservations at the Inn and then cocktails afterwards.
We will start Saturday about 9 am and drive for about 3 hours to lunch. After a leisurely lunch, we will likely hit spots including: Green Bank, WV (home of the NRAO Byrd telescope – the largest moving land thing on Earth), Cass Railroad Depot, Snowshoe, WV, The Greenbrier River, WV’s “Highway in the Clouds”, and whatever we feel like. We try to stop every 60 mins for bio breaks and for awesome photo opps as they happen. Or we just drive. We will return Sat after noon by about 5 and then will likely have dinner in Warm Springs, VA in a place TBD.
Registration for this event is through MotorsportReg and is $100 per person, excluding children. The registration fee covers the cost of a commemorative item for each member, the band, and any appetizers and bartending for the cash bar for the social event Saturday night.
Upon registration at MotorsportReg, you may book your room at the Inn at Gristmill Square room at the $115 - 200 / night rates established just for this event. Please tell them you are with Porsche PCA. ONLY 15 ROOMS – IT WILL SELL OUT FAST. As we get closer to event time, I will send out a more detailed agenda and maps for the group drives.

Everything else is a la carte. NOTE THE FRIDAY GROUP DINNER AT THE INN AT GRISTMILL WILL BE ONE GROUP CHECK WHICH WILL BE DIVIDED EVENLY AND CHARGED TO YOUR ROOM. They don’t do separate checks for a group our size. So eat your fair share.

Event requirements
APPLICATIONS/ACCEPTANCE
- Our events are open to all marques.
- You do not need to be a PCA member to participate.
- Portions of this event has limited capacity to accommodate the venue's facilities, and for the safety of all participants. (Late registrations are risky due to capacity.) Watch the website for revisions.
- We will notify you of your status by email. You are responsible for updating your profile in the MotorsportReg.com website to include your current contact information.
- We initially list all registrants as “confirmed”, or "wait listed" if the event is filled to capacity. When needed, we will change your status as soon as possible. We will provide formal notification of acceptance into an event by email prior to an event. If you haven’t received any notification, check the MSR website for your status.
- Due to limited capacity of the event venue, walkups are discouraged from attempting to join the event. Special consideration may be given to those who preregister but are wait listed at a future event.
- IF YOU CAN'T PARTICIPATE, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CANCEL.
CANCELLATION
- You must cancel please be courteous and cancel as soon as you can in order to allow others from the wait list to attend.
- Cancelations for hotel accommodations are per the policies of The Inn at Gristmill Square, please visit http://www.gristmillsquare.com/ for details.
- If you cannot cancel online, you must notify the Registrar by email and receive an ACKNOWLEDGMENT by email to verify that you have canceled.
PAYMENT
- Potomac accepts only credit cards for payment. You are responsible for maintaining VALID CREDIT CARD INFORMATION in your profile.
- Billing problems result in notification by email with limited time to resolve the issue due to the short billing period. If the issue is not resolved, we may cancel you from the event.
- Credit card and billing information uses secure connections and is protected by MotorSportReg.com. You are the only person who has access to your card number. We only see the last four digits for billing purposes.
- Hotel accommodations & payment for services must be made directly through The Inn at Gristmill Square.
REFUND
- Refunds for hotel accommodations are per the policies of The Inn at Gristmill Square, please visit http://www.gristmillsquare.com/ for details.
- Contact the D&D Chair to discuss special circumstances. THE D&D CHAIR IS THE ONLY PERSON WHO CAN AUTHORIZE A REFUND OR CREDIT FOR AN EVENT.
- If you are authorized a credit for an event, you must use it before the end of the calendar year. We will not carry credits over into the following year. Credits may only be used for other PCA Potomac events. They can't be used for other clubs who also use motorsportreg.com.
