2018 Peachtree Concours d’Elegance
September 8, 2018
Doug Geganto, Concours Chairman
Big changes are coming to our annual Concours d’Elegance in 2018. Our 2018 Concours will be held on Saturday September 8th. We are once again returning to the prestigious Atlanta Athletic Club. We will display our cars on the grounds of the beautiful and prestigious Atlanta Athletic Club. Registration will open at 8:00 a.m. and cars must be in place by 9 a.m. Judging will begin at 10 a.m. and the show will conclude at 2:30 p.m.
Registration for this year’s show will be $30.00 per car which includes one catered lunch from the club. Lunch for passengers (assistant drivers) is not included in the registration fee but can be purchased for an additional $10.00. There is no entry fee for spectators or guests, but since this is a secured private facility all spectators and their guests must register either via Motorsports or by using the registration form on the Peach Page in this newsletter to gain access to the club grounds and show.
The Concours committee once again voted to donate our proceeds from this event to the Ronald Mc Donald House charity. If you wish to individually donate to this worthwhile charity, there will be instructions on the registration form on how to do so.
Along with the usual judged classes we are adding a new judged vehicle class to encourage more of our members to participate. The new judged class will be an all SUV class and will include all the ML and GL models. These vehicles will be judged on the standard Mercedes 100-point scale. Best of class along with 2nd and 3rd place trophies will be awarded in the SUV class.
Next, we have added a SMART car and Sprinter class. Vehicles entered in these entries will not be judged but each entrant will receive a participation award.
