2020 NCR Spring Getaway Weekend -- Inside-Out Bar Harbor Tour -- June 6 - 8, 2020
Join like-minded Porsche enthusiasts on a tour from New Hampshire across Maine to the rock-bound Atlantic coast with its scenic and gustatory delights. Our three-day getaway is timed to bring us to Bar Harbor on Mt Desert Island just prior to high season, so we will enjoy warming temperatures, minimal congestion, and easier access to the region's offerings. While there you will have options for exploration, including Acadia National Park; hiking or biking; photography; sailing; and carriage rides on 58 miles of Rockefeller’s woodland roads.
We call this an “inside-out” tour because we will drive as a group to arrive at Bar Harbor, then leave it to you to explore the area on your own. Group dinners will provide opportunities to share discoveries and experiences.

Schedule
Saturday: Gather at the Intervale Scenic Overlook in North Conway, NH for the usual Waiver Signing and Drivers Meeting, then depart to drive to Bar Harbor. Our route will take us over typical Maine river-valley roads to lunch in Waterville, then over a series of "roller coaster" roads toward the coast. Upon arrival in Bar Harbor we check in at the Bar Harbor Inn & Spa in the center of town, close by the town pier, shops, and restaurants. We plan, of course, to socialize at a Welcome Dinner.
Sunday: The day is yours to explore as you wish. Even if you have previously visited Acadia National Park, you may choose to refresh the experience, or you might prefer a Windjammer Cruise or a drive up the coast to the Schoodic Peninsula where the less well known, less visited portion of Acadia National Park offers scenery, hiking, and solitude unique to the area.
Monday: After breakfast, sign Waivers and attend the Drivers Meeting for an excursion down the coast to Camden, ME for lunch on the waterfront where our Getaway will end.
Lodging
The Bar Harbor Inn & Spa, 1 Newport Drive, Bar Harbor, Maine 04609, phone: (833) 224-8891 is our designated hotel. It is centrally located and within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and waterfront attractions. A block of 20 rooms at discounted rates ($199 – grounds-view rooms; $289 – ocean-view rooms - per night plus tax) for a two-night stay has been arranged. See hotel website (https://barharborinn.com/) for amenities and cancellation policy. Cancellation insurance is available from the hotel at time of booking.
Our block of rooms will be held until 04/07/2020, after which the block will be released, and further reservations will be subject to availability at the standard rate. Cancellations must be received by the hotel at least 10 days before the first reservation night and are subject to a $35 administrative charge. Event requirements
READ CAREFULLY AND COMPLETELY:
- Drivers must be at least 18 years of age, must have a valid driver’s license, and be a PCA member or affiliate.
- Guest participation requires prior approval of the NCR Rally Chair (Rally@ncr-pca.org).
- You must read and agree to adhere to PCA Minimum Driving Tour Standards.
- You must certify that you have no known physical or mental problems that might jeopardize yourself or others if you participate in this event.
- You must agree to cancel or notify the registrar if you cannot attend this event.
All Adults will be required to sign a PCA Waiver at the Drivers Meeting prior to departure. Only adults may drive in this event.
Each Passenger in your vehicle who is a Minor must have a separate, properly executed PCA Minor Waiver signed by a Parent or Legal Guardian. No Exceptions! A Parent or Legal Guardian who is accompanying a Minor in your vehicle may sign the PCA Minor Waiver at the Drivers Meeting. If a Parent or Legal Guardian will not be accompanying the Minor in your vehicle, you MUST download and complete the PCA Minor Waiver Form. It is your responsibility to have this waiver PRINTED IN COLOR, executed, and signed by a Parent or Legal Guardian, and to bring it to the event. Contact the Rally Chair (Rally@ncr-pca.org) well in advance of the event if you have questions. No properly executed and signed PCA Minor Waiver for each Minor means No Participation.
