Monterey, VA Tour 2016
The Shenandoah Region invites you to join us Friday evening, July 22, at the Highland Inn in Monterey, VA for dinner and a relaxing evening on the front porch of one of Virginia’s almost lost treasurers. Saturday morning after a complimentary continental breakfast we will take a beautiful summer drive through Highland and Bath Counties along the Jackson River on scenic roads to The Omni Homestead Resort https://www.omnihotels.com/hotels/homestead-virginia for lunch with plenty of time to stroll the grounds and visit the shops off the Great Hall. On the return trip to the Highland Inn we will stop at a park on the lower lake of the Dominion Power Bath/Highland Pump Storage station https://youtu.be/o7KQGIEeiJ8 , then on through the Bluegrass Valley where the water shed for the James and the Potomac rivers begin. Upon our arrival back at the Highland Inn there will be time to walk around the town of Monterey or head out on your own adventure in this picturesque area before dinner and another relaxing evening on the porch.

- 6:30 PM: Dinner in The Highland Inn dining room

- 7:30 AM: Continental breakfast at the Highland Inn
- 9:45 AM: Drivers meeting in front of the Highland Inn
- 10:00 AM: Tour to The Homestead begins
- 11:30 AM: Arrive The Omni Homestead Resort for lunch and walking about the grounds and shops
- 1:45 PM: Drivers meeting in parking area
- 2:00 PM: Tour to The Highland Inn
- 4:30 PM: Arrive at The Highland Inn
- 6:30 PM: Dinner at The Highland Inn
Sunday, July 24, 2016
- 7:30 AM: Continental breakfast
- 9:00 AM: Depart home on your own. Tour is over.
