About this event
On September 17th, 2017, Apex Track Events will host an Instructor Clinic and Open Track Event for Intermediate and Advanced Drivers and Motorcycle Riders on North Carolina’s Center for Automotive Research’s road course. This road course is ideally situated in Garysburg, NC and features a 40 feet wide bi-directional freshly paved road course with a ½ mile straightaway, 11 constant radius turns and large grassy run-off areas. There is no competition for times or trophies but a lot of fun to be had. Virtually any car is fully capable of handling this type of event. Saturday, the 16th is open to all experience levels and registration is located here: msreg.com/Apexfest3 Sunday, the 17th is only available for drivers who have been "Solo'd" (meaning they don't need an instructor) We will be conducting an Instructor Clinic on Sunday so instructors will not be available for in car coaching. We will run in the popular counter-clockwise configuration both days.
You must have a valid driver's license to attend. You will be able to download a technical inspection form that your personal mechanic will perform before you leave home. All you need to bring is this and a Snell SA2010 or later helmet.
We will have an at track safety inspection at the track on Sunday morning.
This event is open to all makes and models and you do not have to be a club member to participate. There will be an instructor clinic with classroom and on track exercises. The solo'd open track participants will be able to enjoy open track all day long except for the times where the instructor clinic is using the track. Car sharing is allowed with separate registration for each driver. This event will fill very quickly, so you will need to place your entry soon. Driving History/Experience will be verified for all Solo'd drivers participating in open track.
