Did you go to Parade this past June in Monterey? No? Then you missed an opportunity to visit Bruce Canepa's famous Race Car Museum and Speed Shop in Scotts Valley. But thanks to GGR we have a "fix" for you: a morning FunRun from Cupertino to Canepa's via Hiway 9, on the 2nd Saturday in November.

An accomplished racer, Bruce Canepa has collected some of his own racecars including the ‘81 Pikes Peak hill climb car, and the last Porsche 935, which he raced in the IMSA championship in the early '80s. On display are racecars and motorcycles from the golden age of motorsport to modern times. The museum showcases examples from multiple disciplines with everything from Can-Am to NASCAR, Sprint Cars to Le Mans.

By noon, we'll be ready for lunch, so we'll retire for eats somewhere nearby to discuss the marvelous machines we've just seen. While lunch will be optional, we expect to see you all there! Stay tuned for more details to be announced separately.

Canepa will be able to accommodate 50 people [drivers + passengers] for our tour of their plant, which will take about 90 mins to see it all. This means do not delay in registering, because these tours sell-out in a day or two. By now, you know that, right? Yes, there will be a wait list.

The drive from Cupertino on back roads and up Hiway 9 through Boulder Creek, Felton to Scotts Valley will be more of a touring style of drive rather  than sporty. This is due to bicycles and auto traffic on this highly popular route. In the meantime you'll see some fun, twisty roads you've never seen before, and it will be a far better ride over the hill than simply using the freeway! Save the freeway for after the event concludes, or retrace back up 9, which is well worth considering.

Here is a new wrinkle... For the first time we are instituting a $10 fee per car for the event. This fee will be deposited to the GGR Charitable Gift Fund and donated at the end of the year to deserving non-profit organizations. GGR has always made these yearly donations, and you'll be pleased to know our FunRun events will now be contributing to this worthwhile endeavor. Be aware, once you have been confirmed as going on the drive, this fee will be non-refundable.

Now then, here are some answers to FAQs, and we'll have more detail for you later, so watch for announcements.
