Spring 2014 School @ Laguna Seca

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca

About this event

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Driving School

Join the BMW CCA Golden Gate Chapter on May 31, 2014, at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, CA! Laguna Seca is one of America's most exciting and challenging race tracks, making it a great place to learn the art of high-performance driving from the dedicated team of experienced GGC instructors. You'll go home with skills you can use on the roads every day as well as some great memories of laps at this famous racetrack.

If you are an advanced driver, you will be excited to hear about our new Advanced Coaching with Data Acquisition option! This optional program will provide a dedicated instructor/coach to you for the entire day both on/off track. You will get double the on-track sessions and we will provide data acquisition equipment that the coach will use to help you take the next step in your driving skills.

Event requirements

School requirements:

Your car must be registered, you must be a licensed driver, 18 years of age or older and you must be a current BMW CCA member to be eligible to participate (the non-member price includes a non-refundable one-year BMW CCA membership).

Note: Attendance at a GGC Car Control Clinic is strongly recommended and is typically a prerequisite for first-timers planning to attend any of our driving schools who do not have previous high-performance driving experience (if in doubt, email to ask).

Snell SA2005 and M2005 or newer helmets are required.

Cars will have to pass a restricted sound limitation of 90db so keep that in mind when getting the tech inspection for your car.

If you would like to share a car with another student, please contact the Registrar by clicking the Host Details to the right before registering.

Convertibles and T-top cars must have 5-point/6-point belts and arm restraints, as well as an approved roll bar installed.  Factory "rollover protection" for a soft top (i.e. BMW Z3 and Z4, Porsche Boxster) is not sufficient for the school.  Convertibles with hard tops, including folding hard tops, are NOT ALLOWED.  Examples of cars NOT ALLOWED include: Firebirds and Camaros with T-tops or convertibles; any Corvette other than the Z06 coupe;  Porsche convertibles and Targas.  The Lotus Elise, while a targa-style car, IS ALLOWED due to its structural design provided that the hard roof panel is in place (the soft roof panel is not sufficient).  It is essential that you email us to discuss these issues well in advance if you plan to bring a convertible or T-top car.  We will not give refunds if you sign up with an ineligible car.

Cancellation policy: Any cancellations prior to May 17, 2014 pay $50.00 (or $98 for non-members, who will receive a 1-year BMW CCA membership).  Cancellations on or after May 17, 2014 will not receive a refund or credit for any reason. We do not issue refunds or credits issued for any reason -- if you think you may not be able to attend, please purchase commonly available trip insurance.

Please make sure to include and update your driving experience and your emergency contact info in your account when you register online.
