About this event
Beautiful fall weather calls for a day spent outside enjoying nature, and where better to enjoy and relax than by Lake Allatoona at Red Top Mountain State Park (50 Lodge Rd SE Cartersville, GA 30121). This family event will be held on September 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Two lakeside picnic pavilions, nearby playground, miniature golf, walking trails and more provide the perfect setting for the whole family to enjoy.
Main dishes will be provided, and we are asking all participants to bring a side dish or dessert to share. You may also want to bring along some chairs although picnic tables and benches are available in the picnic shelters.
The park is also hosting a special event that weekend of:
Harvest Time at the Homestead
Saturday & Sunday 10 AM - 4 PM from Sep 17, 2016 until Sep 18, 2016
Step back in time to the 1800's and experience the lives of citizens and soldiers. Living history demonstrators will bring our historic log cabin to life as they demonstrate crafts and daily activities. Try your hand at woodworking, laundry, soap making and more. Stop by the Civil War camp and visit with soldiers. See black powder weapons fired.
There will be a nominal fee of $10 per family to defer expenses. Red Top Mountain State Park will collect a $5/car parking fee on the day of the event. Registration is required as we need to have a head count.
