FSR Eastern Breakfast with a Twist

Hillcrest Farms

About this event

Join your FSR friends for an Eastern Breakfast with a Twist!

The COVID-19 restrictions won’t allow us to meet at Pop’s Diner for our usual monthly breakfast on Saturday, July 11th but we’ve come up with an idea for a breakfast gathering with a twist!

We will meet in the public circle in the Hillcrest Farms neighborhood in Virginia Beach.  A fabulous breakfast with several delicious options will be catered by our own Mary Cook at “Chef-In-My-Kitchen”.  Bring your lawn chair and find a shady spot in the grass to enjoy your meal and catch up with your First Settlers friends!

Registration and breakfast will start at 9:00AM.  The Hillcrest Farms neighborhood is just southeast of the intersection of Indian River Road and Elbow Road.  Follow your GPS to the Grandfield’s house at 2581 Eagles Lake Road, Virginia Beach.  You will see the large grass circle, with a Porsche parked in front when you enter the neighborhood.  Park along the circle, don your mask, grab your lawn chair, head to registration, pick up your food, seat six feet apart and talk to your friends!  Bathroom facilities will be available down the road at the Grandfield’s house.

The cost for breakfast is $20 per person, payable here online.   We need a minimum of 30 people to support the caterer, but Phase III limitations are 250, so we don't think we'll have to turn anyone away.

Of course, we can’t run an event without accounting for COVID-19 restrictions.  Here are the guidelines for this open air breakfast event:

  • Please wear a mask when you leave your car and proceed to registration to sign the PCA Communicable Disease Exposure (CDE) waiver.  The First Settlers Region master roster of members who have already signed the CDE waiver isn’t complete, so everyone can expect to sign a waiver or bring a signed copy with them. Waivers can be downloaded HERE.
  • Wear your mask while getting your food, then find a spot in the grass for your chair at least six feet away from other people who are not in your immediate family.
  • Since we will be outside in a large area eating, masks are not required once you sit down to eat.
  • Avoid congregating while socializing after your meal and maintain social distancing guidelines.

So Mary can get the food quantity right, registration closes on 7 July, so don't delay, sign up now!!

We hope to see everyone at breakfast, see some cars and catch up with our friends!

Event requirements

FIRST SETTLERS REGION - PORSCHE CLUB OF AMERICA

EVENT COVID-19 SAFETY GROUND RULES

1.  Masks are always required to be worn when moving away from your car during this event. If you object or are not comfortable with this requirement, please do not register to participate.

2.  Avoid congregating at all times. Leave appropriate space between people, participating cars and other vehicles while parked. Maintain at least 6 feet of separation between family units at all times when out of vehicles and allow for an empty parking space between cars when you park.

3.  Please do not come to the event if you are feeling ill, have a temperature above 100.4 degrees or have been in contact with someone in the past two weeks who has been sick. Refunds will be provided upon request – just ask. We highly recommend all volunteers and participants take their temperature to ensure it is below 100.4 degrees before departing from home for the event.

4 Signage will be put in place at event registration to remind participants of the virus risk and remind them not to participate if feeling sick.

6.  We will provide hand sanitizer, nitrile gloves and masks for the event workers and have extra on hand for participants as needed. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially before eating and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. Refrain from touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue into the trash.

7.  Every effort will be made to avoid touching between event workers and participants. Refrain from shaking hands, fist-bumps and hugs.

8.  If someone becomes ill at the event, they will either be sent home to contact their medical provider, or the event medical response coordinator or other event volunteer will call 911.  The decision to call 911 will be made using the following CDC guidelines for seeking emergency care:

  • Trouble breathing
  • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
  • New confusion
  • Inability to wake or stay awake
  • Bluish lips or face

9.  If any event participant does not comply with all the above safety ground rules, they will be asked to immediately depart the event. If there is sufficient concern regarding participant safety, the event organizers may cancel the event at any time, including prior to the start.
