Info, Rules & Regulations

Paid Practice:

Teams will be offered discounted karting sessions for use in public heats on Friday, February 14th. These sessions can only be purchased in store, used on that day, cannot be combined with any other offer, and can only be transferred between registered entrants in the Enduro.  Provide your registration receipt to get your discount.

Drivers’ Meeting:

All entrants must be present at the drivers’ meeting. Random roll call will be taken and if a driver is absent during roll call his or her team will receive a one lap penalty.

Qualifying:
Qualifying is two ten-minute sessions in which the fastest lap for each team will order the grid for the start of the race. The driver who qualifies the team’s kart must also start the race for that team and run a minimum of a ten-minute stint before pitting for a driver
swap.  Times from both sessions will be compared.

Race Start:
The start of the race will be a standing start utilizing the painted grid spots on the
front stretch. The grid will be ordered based on the overall fastest lap times from
qualifying.

Pit Stops (Minimum of 3):

When entering the pit lane there will be designated “stop-and-go” areas where you must
safely come to a complete stop before continuing forward into your pit box. (There will
be a 2 lap penalty given to anyone who comes into pit lane at a high rate of speed, not
in control of the kart, or fails to stop at the line).

**All Pit Stops Will Include A Driver and Kart Change**
On Deck driver will check in at the pit box and check if a kart is available.  If a kart is available, it will be held for that driver/team.  Upon selection the team has 2 laps to execute their pitstop.  The team will need to signal to the current driver on track to get them to enter the pit.  We recommend using a dry erase board to signal your driver with the lane you will be waiting in so they know to enter the pit and line up in that lane on the following lap.

Do not signal a driver prior to reserving a kart for the pitstop.  If a driver enters the pit without a kart reserved, they will be forced to continue unless they are executing a change due to mechanical issue.  Mechanical pit stops do not count toward driver stint requirements.

When a driver finishing a stint enters the pit lane to complete a stop, They will stop at the entry line before being told to proceed to the second line. Upon coming to a complete stop the driver will exit the kart and tag the next driver who will be ready in the designated kart releasing them to enter the track unless they are serving a weight delay.  (ONLY THE EXITING DRIVER AND NEW DRIVER ARE ALLOWED IN PIT LANE DURING THE DRIVER CHANGE.)

**Serving Black Flag**
When a driver has received a black flag, that driver will enter the pit lane for a
stop-and-go penalty. The driver will come to a complete stop at all stop lines and then
re-enter the track without fueling or driver swap.

Stint Duration:
There is no limit to the amount of stints or length of stints a driver can do aside from the 10 min minimum on the first stint and the requirement of at least 1 stint per driver with a minimum of 3 stops.

Kart Failures:

**Kart Failure by COTA Issue** In the event of a kart failure on track due to a
mechanical problem not caused by driver abuse, we will add back your laps to where
you were in relation to position in the race and have you re-enter the track roughly in the
same position that you left. If needed, the race will be red flagged to retrieve the stalled
kart and your team will be given a replacement one.

**Kart Failure by User Error**In the event of a kart failure on track due to a problem
caused by the driver or team, such as hitting the curbs to break a part, no lap compensation will be given. If needed, the race will be red flagged to retrieve the stranded kart and your team will be given a replacement one.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS):

Is radio communication allowed?
Yes, radio communication is permitted. However, please ensure that all radio connections are secure and not dangling from the driver or kart. If we feel that something is unsafe with how the radio wiring is harnessed to the driver on course, we may bring the driver in for a stop-and-go to adjust the wiring.

Are EZ-Ups and Pop-Up Tents allowed?
Yes, however staking is not permitted anywhere, and no driving on unpaved surfaces to include grass parking dividers.  There are delicate irrigation lines, and damages will be billed to the team captain. Each team will have a designated area to assemble their pop-up tent in Lot A.

Will there be power hookups available?
No.  Generators are allowed provided an appropriate fire extinguisher is near by and fuel is stored safely.

Where can we display signs to signal our driver to come in for a pit stop?
You can walk around the outside of the track in the normal spectatingsections to signal to your driver.
