Come road rally in a friendly, competitive environment!
BMC Rally IV - Georgetown Jaunt II
Start Location: Conservation District Building, 2430 Old County Rd, Newark DE 19702 - at the corner of Glasgow Ave (old Rt 896) and Old County Rd.
On-site Registration: 12:00p - 12:30p (Rally review and Q+A at 12:30p)
First Car Off: 1:00p + Car Number thereafter
Finish Location: The Granary Restaurant, George St, Georgetown, MD
Classes:
Classic TSD Class: For those who enjoy calculating time-speed-distance. Any type calculating equipment is allowed. Awards will be given for best TSD scores.
SOP (Seat-of-Pants) Class: No calculating, just drive the rally route while averaging the various assigned speeds. Awards will be given for best average speed scores.
Tour: Don’t want to compete? Drive the rally route at your leisure and enjoy the back roads of Cecil County, MD.
Cost: Due to increased insurance costs, we have reinstated our rally fees. However, we have kept them as inexpensive as possible.
BMC members: $10 per car
Non-members: $15 per car
RSVP: Please RSVP so we can have enough route instructions at the event. We also need to give the destination restaurant a head count for our tables. Preregister / prepay here, or RSVP directly with rallymaster Jim Irons at < captjti38@gmail.com > and pay on site.
Description: This is a fun road rally of about 40 miles from Glasgow, DE area to Georgetown, MD (not Georgetown, DE!). Smooth paved roads are used, and the instructions are easy to follow with no tricks or traps. The rally will end at the Granary Restaurant, where we can dine, rehash the day’s fun, and enjoy a nice view of the Sassafras River.
Event requirements
- All street legal cars are welcome to compete. Each car typically requires a 2-person team of Driver and Navigator.
- Navigators do not need to preregister separately.
- General Instructions and Route Instructions will be provided at the event, or shortly before.
