Coatesville Vintage GP - Volunteers

BMC is proud to be providing safety flaggers and grid workers for the 2019 Coatesville Vintage Grand Prix!  This is the only vintage race running on a real street course in the US.  It always attracts a wide range of vintage race cars and motorcycles.  This is your chance to be part of the action, and see the racers up close and at speed.

Commemorative T-shirts, safety vests, radios, water, and lunch will be provided for all workers at no cost.  The experience will be priceless.

Volunteers report at approximately 7:00a for assignment and instruction.  The event is expected to be complete by 3:30p.  We plan to have 9 corner stations with 3 workers at each to allow for duty rotation and better observation.  We will also need additional crew to help marshal the grid during and between heats.

Special parking areas are designated for volunteers near the race control center.  Bring a camp chair if you wish.

Duties will be similar to the typical courseworker assignment at an autocross event.  Crowd control and incident response will be handled by Coatesville police and emergency services.  You will be on station to communicate course conditions and alerts to the drivers via flags, and to identify potential hazards to course control via radio.  Prior experience is not required but is a plus.
