Ever wonder how your ride compares with an Air Force Jet plane or are you just interested in Aviation History, World War II or a Who's Who in Georgia Aviation History?  How about a Mission Quest?  Where you plan a combat mission and then fly your mission in a modern jet simulator?

Join us for a day at the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robbins GA on July 29th.  In addition to its regular informational programs; the Museum has offered to provide special programs geared to Pre-Teens, Young Adults and Mature Adults. 

So, put gas in the Mercedes gather the family and friends bring out the Kids Grandkids and Young Adults for an exciting adventure of Aviation starting at 10:00 Saturday July 29th. 

This event will feature something for adults and something for the young folks.  There will be a Scavenger Hunt for the Pre-Teens and the opportunity to participate in a mission planning and flight simulation challenge program for the older students and the adults; as well as, a Guided Tour if desired.

The Museum of Aviation is the second-largest aerospace museum of the United States Air Force.  The facility includes four large exhibit buildings which house some of the 85 historic U.S. Air Force aircraft, missiles, cockpits and award-winning exhibits. The Museum of Aviation is the home of Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame located on the second floor of the Century of Flight Hangar.  Do you have a NEED for SPEED: The SR-71A Blackbird on display is the current record holder for flight airspeed. It set an absolute speed record of 2,193.2 mph on July 28, 1976.

We will take a 1 ½ hour guided tour by a professional tour guide.  Guided tour includes more than one building.  A minimum of 20 persons is required for a guided tour.  After the guided tour one can explore the other buildings at their leisure.  There are four buildings and outside displays, featuring over 85 aircraft.  Maps are available.

Pre-teen Activities

  1. Eagle Building Scavenger Hunt for Pre-Teens. 

Pre-Teens will have the opportunity to participate in a Scavenger Hunt in the Eagle Building.  Additionally, this group will have the opportunity to visit and sit in an F-15 fighter jet cockpit, a great photo opportunity.

  1. Fly Your Own Plane Contest

Weather Permitting, A special activity for all children under the age of 13.  Planes will be provided and prizes awarded for the furthest flights.

Mission Quest Challenge:  Plan a Mission and Fly a Mission.  3 hours’ time duration:  Adult or Young adult over 12 years of age with a 10-participant min, 16 max, $15   This is an opportunity to get some seat time in an Air Force simulator.  You will be given the tools to plan a mission, and then the opportunity to fly a mission in one of 16 simulators.  Just like flight school you can choose your ride depending on how you do in mission planning.  Want to Fly a B-1 bomber, how about an F-15 Fighter jet, or the new Air Force C-17 Transport.  Live Air Traffic control will monitor your mission as you fly but you will have to plan it and execute it.  Must be 12 years or older to participate.  Driver’s license is NOT required!   A 10:15 start, be on time to be fitted with a Flight Suit!   Total of 3 hours required for this event.  Adults and Teens welcome need 10 participants’ min, 16 max, $15.  First Come. This is a $60 discount for MBCA participants.
