2018 Ohio Valley Region SCCA PDX @ Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course

                                                          This event is held under the 2018 SCCA Time Trial Rules (TTR) for a Level 1 Performance Driving                                                                                                 Experience (PDX) and as may be amended by the 2018 "FastTrack'' published monthly and available                                                                                                                                                         on the SCCA website..

This is part of the OVR Autumn Classic  Weekend activities.

Event requirements

Driver Eligibility: For PDX groups a valid state vehicle driver's license is required. Time Trial and Club Racing Novice License holders must turn in credentials when registering at the track and must get them back from the Chief Steward at the end of the event.

A valid competition license is required for the Race Test and Tune group.


Required Drivers Safety Equipment: PDX drivers will be required to have the following safety equipment and present them for Tech Inspection with their vehicle:

-Helmets certified as meeting the applicable Snell, FIA, or SFI standards are acceptable. Acceptable standards include: Snell ratings SA2015, SA2010, SAH2010, SA2005, M2015, M2010, M2005, K2010 and K2005, SFI ratings 31.1, 31.1A, 3.12, 31.2A, 31.1 2005, 41.1, 41.1A, 41.2, 41.2A, 41.2 2005 and 24.1, FIA 8860-2010, 8859-2015,

-Suitable eye protection,

-Long sleeve shirt, long pants, and shoes that fully cover the foot to at least the ankle.

-Driving gloves are not required but are recommended.

-For Drivers using race prepared vehicles it is recommended that they be fully covered by at least one layer of an accepted fire resistant material.

 

Full driver gear as outlined in the GCR is required for the Race Test and Tune group.

 

Vehicle Eligibility: PDX Groups are open to all vehicles conforming to the following

1. Street legal cars with current and valid registration

2. Vehicles prepared to the Solo Rules classes of Street, Street Prepared, Street Touring, Street Modified, Prepared

3. Vehicles prepared to SCCA GCR classes of Spec Miata, Touring, Improved Touring, 

B Spec, Production, Super Touring or Sedan

4. Convertible vehicles operating with the factory roll over protection system are allowable. Other convertibles should have either a factory hardtop or a 4 point roll bar. If a roll bar is used, it should meet the roll bar requirements found in the TT/HC Driver Information TTR.

 

All cars must pass tech prior to being permitted on the track.

 

Any car that is street legal will be waived from the roll bar/roll cage requirements except for convertibles and targa-top automobiles. These vehicles must use a factory-supplied hardtop, or have installed a roll bar that meets SCCA TTR rules for PDX.

 

A production based race vehicle with current SCCA logbook is required for the Race Test and Tune group.

 

Vehicle Numbers: All participating vehicles must have two-digit identification numbers on both sides of the vehicle of suitable size, shape and contrast to be easily read. We will try to meet all numbering requests that are made via the registration forms. However numbers are assigned by the registrar and will be on the outside of your track registration packet. Temporary numbering materials will be available at Tech Inspection.

 

Technical Inspection Requirements: All drivers are required to fill out a "Ohio Valley Region SCCA PDX Technical inspection Form -2017" (Forms may be downloaded at www.ovr-scca.org or www.motorsportreg.com)  prior to presenting their vehicle for inspection. Vehicles must be presented for Tech Inspection to receive an event tech sticker. NO VEHICLES WILL BE PERMITTED ON TRACK WITHOUT A TECH STICKER. It is the participant's responsibility to bring a compliant vehicle to the track. Participants with non-compliant vehicles will be given a refund minus a $50.00 cancelation fee.

 

Any vehicle judged to be in an unsafe operating condition at any time during the event shall be

prohibited from further participation until the condition is corrected and approved by the Technical

Inspector.
